What is Hypnotherapy?


Hypnotherapy involves a trance state but the hypnotised person is in full control and will have a heightened state of awareness, it does not induce a state of deep sleep which is a widely held belief. The therapist opens up the sub-conscious mind and subdues the conscious mind. In this state the therapist can implant direct suggestions to promote a life change in the sub-conscious mind.


Hypnotherapy combined with NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) enables people to overcome smoking (In 1992 The New Scientist magazine decided to check the claims made by Hypnotherapists and conducted a large scale study and all known stop smoking methods were compared. “IT WAS FOUND THAT HYPNOTHERAPY WAS THE MOST EFFECTIVE METHOD” This was also confi8rmed in “The Journal of Applied Psychology”.


Hypnotherapy also re-programmes the mind to overcome Phobias/Fears. People make lifestyle changes such as weight loss (with Hypnotic Gastric Banding), a suppression of negative emotions to promote confidence and self esteem. Pain relief, sexual confidence, positive attitudes to exams, and to any endeavour such as acting, public speaking, sports, panic attacks and anxiety. It helps with stress and tension, Insomnia, IBS and obsessional compulsive behaviour.
